How You Can Qualify for the Tax Credit
Homeowners can claim up to 10% for windows up to $200, and 10% up to $500 on doors,
no labor is
included. The maximum for the year is $500, with no more than $200 of
the credit for windows.
- Purchase any Moss qualified window and door that meets Energy Star® standards.
- Install the window in your primary place of residence between January 1, 2011 and
December 31, 2011.
And meet the other requirements of the Federal Tax Code.
- Keep a receipt of your window purchase (windows and doors only; no labor is eligible) along with a copy of the Moss Manufacturer’s Certification Statement.
- Homeowners will need to keep a copy of Moss’ NFRC sticker for their records only, no need to file with their tax return.
- The windows and doors need to meet the Energy Star® criteria for the climate zone within which they have been purchased. See the Energy Star ® map to locate the applicable zone.
- File for the tax credit using IRS Form 5695
